Miller to Drive No. 01 JD Motorsports NASCAR XFINITY Series Entry Full-Time in 2018

Miller to Drive No. 01 JD Motorsports NASCAR XFINITY Series Entry Full-Time in 2018

GAFFNEY, S.C. (November 28, 2017) – JD Motorsports with Gary Keller (JDM) is excited to announce that NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) graduate Vinnie Miller will drive the No. 01 Chevrolet Camaro NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) entry full-time next season. Miller made the announcement live on SIRIUS XM NASCAR Radio on “Tradin’ Paint with Jim Noble and Chocolate Myers.”

Miller, 20 years of age, grew up racing on the same Michigan short tracks as fellow Michiganders and Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Drivers Brad Keselowski and Erik Jones. The Ortonville, Mich., native ran events in both the NKNPSE and the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards last season, scoring an impressive six top-10s, which included leading laps at his home track, Michigan International Speedway.

He made his NXS debut at Chicagoland Speedway with JDM on September 16, scoring a 29th-place finish. Additionally, he made his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series debut at Talladega Superspeedway on October 14, 2017, scoring a strong seventh-place finish.

“It’s a dream come true,” Miller said. “As a young racer, you certainly dream of making it to this level and competing with the best of the best, without being sure it will ever happen. I have several people to thank, but mostly importantly, I need to thank my family for their support. The sacrifices they have made to allow me to chase my dreams do not go unnoticed, and it will be really special to share the next step in this journey with them.”

“I see a lot of potential in Vinnie,” said team owner, Johnny Davis. “He is a hard-working young man, and he has demonstrated his ability as a racer. He’ll have a lot to learn next year, but my team is committed to giving him the resources he needs to have a successful rookie year. Vinnie already fits in great with the team, so we’re looking forward to the 2018 season.”

“I’m really looking forward to joining JD Motorsports with Gary Keller,” Miller added. “In the ever changing motorsports landscape, to join a team that has raced full-time since 2002 is super exciting, and shows the dedication the organization has to the sport.”

Vinnie Miller Scores a Seventh Place Finish in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Debut at Talladega Superspeedway with Bolen Motorsports

Vinnie Miller Scores a Seventh Place Finish in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Debut at Talladega Superspeedway with Bolen Motorsports

Posted by on Oct 17, 2017 in News |

Mooresville, NC (October 16, 2017)-Vinnie Miller, piloting the No. 66 Master Mfg Inc Bolen Motorsports in his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) debut, posted a seventh-place finish in the Oct. 14 Fred’s 250 at Talladega Superspeedway.

Miller placed the Chevrolet Silverado 24th on the starting grid for the 94-lap race on the 2.66-mile superspeedway.  Working with his spotter, the 20-year-old Michigan native was able to avoid the multiple crashes in the NCWTS event.  The Bolen Motorsports team played it safe keeping the rookie driver closer to the rear of the field to avoid the chaos on the track until the last stages of the race.

The race went into overtime and on the green-white-checkered flag restart Miller was in the 15th place and was able to avoid the last-lap crash, posting an impressive seventh-place finish in his first superspeedway race.

This will be Miller’s seventh top-ten finish in 13 starts this season in a combination of races in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE), ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards (ARCA), NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) and the NCWTS.

Additionally, this matches Bolen Motorsports’ best finish of seventh place for the small NCWTS team owned by Jeff Bolen.  (2017 – Martinsville Speedway – Ross Chastain)

“I can’t thank Bolen Motorsports for such a good truck this weekend,” Vinnie Miller said.  “It was definitely a lot of fun racing on a superspeedway and drafting.  Big props to my spotter this weekend, Rocky Ryan, for teaching me so much and being my eyes and ears on the track.  I wouldn’t have ended up with a top-10 finish without him.  We had good pit stops all day which helped with track position and being lucky helped us survive the wrecks.  Thank you to my family and Master Mfg., Inc. for their support to help me achieve my dream of racing in the top-tier NASCAR series.  From my first K&N (NKNPSE) race to the ARCA Series, the NXS race and the finale of my 2017 season in the NCWTS at Talladega they stood behind me all the way.  I am so fortunate for their support.”

To date there are no announcements on Vinnie’s 2018 race plans but we hope to have something by the end of November.

The 20-year-old driver made his NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) debut September 16 at Chicagoland Speedway driving for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller.

Miller Posts 13th at Kentucky Speedway with MDM Motorsports in ARCA Racing Series Event

Miller Posts 13th at Kentucky Speedway with MDM Motorsports in ARCA Racing Series Event

Posted by on Sep 26, 2017 in News |

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 26, 2017) – Vinnie Miller posted a 13th place finish in the Crosely 150 at Kentucky Speedway piloting the No. 41 Master Mfg., Inc MDM Motorsports ARCA Racing Series (ARS) presented by Menards Toyota Camry Friday night.

Miller made his first the trip to the Bluegrass State after making his NASCAR XFINITY Series debut last Saturday afternoon. Fighting a loose race car and a very slick track, he qualified 18th for the 150-mile race. He worked his way into the top-15 early, and it looked as if the Michigan native had a top-10 car. A penalty for “pit crew over the wall to soon,” cost Miller valuable track position on the 1.5-mile Sparta, Kentucky track. He was able to fight back inside the top-15, finishing 13th in the Crosley 150.

Miller on Kentucky: “It was a frustrating night for our team for sure. I think we had a better car than we showed, but we were just never able to get the track position we needed. I can’t thank MDM Motorsports enough for all their hard work. We have had speed all year, and I wouldn’t trade my team for any other team.”

Vinnie Miller MDM Motorsports ARCA Racing Series Preview: Kentucky Speedway

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (Sept. 19, 2017) – Vinnie Miller set to make his first start at Kentucky Speedway in the running of the General Tire Super Weekend: Crosley Brands 150 ARCA Racing Series (ARS) presented by Menards Friday night.

The 20-year-old made his first laps on the 1.5-mile Sparta, KY track Wednesday during the ARS open test.   He posted the fourth fastest time in the morning session while piloting the No. 41 Master Mfg., Inc MDM Motorsports Toyota Camry.

Miller returns to MDM Motorsports after making his NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) debut last weekend at Chicagoland (Ill.) Speedway scoring a solid 29th place finish.

The Michigan native has scored four top-10s in five ARS starts this season. He has also scored two top-10 finishes and one top-five finish in six NASCAR K&N Pro Series East starts.

Miller on Kentucky: “I am excited to get back in a MDM Motorsports car this weekend at Kentucky Speedway. I have really enjoyed the speedway races this year and think we have a great shot at getting a win this weekend. This will be my first start at Kentucky, and from the film that I’ve watched and the studying that I’ve done it looks like a very cool race track with lots of room to race. I really like the track.  I can go wide open and able to run off the bottom where most of the other teams were driving.  It is a super smooth track.  After running in the test I know that Friday’s race will be a great learning experience and a lot of fun.”

Friday’s Crosley Brands 150 will be live on FS1. The green flag is scheduled to wave at 8:00 p.m., ET.
