GAFFNEY, S.C. (September 12, 2017) Vinnie Miller will make his NASCAR top-tier Touring Series debut in the NASCAR Xfinity Series at Chicagoland Speedway Saturday, September 16th in the No. 0 Master Mfg., Inc JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolet Camero.
Miller, an Ortonville, MI native has had proven success in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East (NKNPSE) and ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards (ARCA) Series in 2017. The 20-year-old driver has one top-five and six top-10 finishes in his rookie season in both series in just 10 events. The young driver scored his best finish of fifth place at South Boston Speedway in the NKNPSE Series and scored top 10 finishes in his debut at Pocono Raceway and his home track at Michigan International Speedway; even leading laps on the 2-mile D-shaped track.
“It is a dream come true to be able to drive in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. The opportunity to drive for Johnny Davis Racing this weekend is something I never thought would happen when I started racing at age five. I know Chicagoland is a bumpy track so it should be somewhat challenging and I have a lot to learn this weekend. I plan on listening and learning as much as I can from my JDM teammates and crew chief during practice. The goal is to finish the race first. I’ve always been told you must first finish, before you can finish first.
Thank you to my grandmother, Julie Weedon, my mom Renee Organtek and Master Mfg., Inc. for helping me get this far. I know my grandfather; Vance will be behind the wheel with me at Chicagoland.”
Chicagoland Speedway practice is scheduled for 1:00p.m. and 3:00 p.m. (CT) Friday. Qualifying is set for 11:35 a.m. Saturday. The Chicagoland 300 will get the green flag at 2:46 p.m. on NBCSN.
